A few new books for Fantasy & Twilight Fans

If you’re a fantasy fan, you’ve probably read Tamora Pierce’s books – and if you haven’t, you definitely should!  UHigh now (finally!) has a copy of her latest, Melting Stones.  Residents of the island of Starns send for help from Winding Circle temple, and when prickly green mage Rosethorn and young stone mage trainee Evvy respond, Evvy finds that the problem is with a long-dormant volcano and tries to use her talents to avert the looming destruction.

Ann Brashares, author of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants books, also has a new book out: 3Willows: The Sisterhood Grows.   Ama, Jo, and Polly, three close friends from Bethesda, Maryland, spend the summer before ninth grade learning about themselves, their families, and the changing nature of their friendship.

Finally, for those of you who are Twilight fans, check out these titles:

The Twilight Companion: The Unauthorized Guide to the Series by Lois H. Gresh.  It’s everything you ever wanted to know about Twlight, vampires & werewolves.

Lament: The Faerie Queen’s Deception by Maggie Stiefvater – On the day of an important music competition, talented but painfully introverted and nervous Deirdre Monaghan is helped to perform by the compelling and enigmatic Luke Dillon and finds herself inexorably drawn into the mysteries and dangers of the faerie world.

Wondrous Strange by Lesley Livingston – When seventeen-year-old actress Kelley Winslow meets Sonny Flannery, she discovers he is a changeling and guardian of the gate between the faerie Otherworld and the mortal realm. She also learns that her mother had otherworldly powers that she has passed on to Kelley.
